I just wanted to prove accurate mini-14's do exist :p

Shot with a 5 MOA red dot in the middle of a blizzard at 100 yards.

Not bench rest accuracy by far, but they sure did pull their socks up with the new 580 series. This is out of the box with handloads!

Nice group .. to bad you missed.

Working up a load, I very rarely shoot for bullseye. Once I get the load then I move the impact to center target ;)

Yes, its an Aimpoint clone available from www.fabsports.com .. its a great little clone but its definatly not the same quality as a real one. But, as far as clones go, this is the best one I have laid my hands on. I believe its his model H95 if I remember correctly.

Sadly I can't seem to pick up any more Hornady FMJ's at the moment so I picked up 1000 Winchester FMJ's. I doubt I'll be able to work up an as accurate load with them but I dont think they will be too too bad.

So long as I can shoot for vitals I'm happy :)

Try the bulk WW 55 gr. jsp bullets; the ones with a cannelure that sell for about $20 a bushel.

My exact load is 26.1 gr. of IMR-4064, in WW brass, with CCI small rifle primers, bullets crimped into the cannelure with a LEE crimp die.

Your mileage may vary, but it gives me consistent MOA in two 'old style', completely unmodified rifles. It worked even better with the (now unavailable) Nosler Solid Base #16339. If somebody has a few thousand of those, I'd make a serious trade for them.

Two headed calves also exist. The odds of getting one are another matter.

I had to laugh the other day out at the range, I brought some new loads to test in a mini I aquired last year. The fellow spotting for me, "say's nice groups, usually you have to buy five to find one that shoots like that". I told him it is at least my fourth one so he wasn't very far off.

It shoots honest 1.5moa with my latest load maybe a smidge better.
