Accurate No.9 loads for 45acp ??

hey guys, I have 8 lbs of this powder which I had purchased a while ago before starting reload. I didn't know that this powder was made for magnum loads and that's why I can't find any loading data for 45acp.

has anyone loaded 45acp with this powder? if so, how many grains did you start with?

I've reloaded .45ACP with AA 4100 (similar in speed to #9), not a happy time. Wild velocity variances until the charge was so high the bad things were happening to the primers.

Best to sell it to someone with a .357, 44mag or the like.

Another CGNer did the same thing, he's now trying to sell it in the EE. I'd buy it to load 10mm and .44 but he's in Calgary. AA9 is a very slow pistol powder and as was mentioned pretty much unsuitable for .45 ACP.

It's a great powder for 200 grain bullets. It's decent for 180s. Anything lighter not so much.
