Accurate spring powered Pistol

Yes they do exist. The one i shoot is the HW45, it is my favorite overall sport pistol i have ever owned.
The market for spring pistols seems to be shrinking though but there are plenty out there you just have to look around.
You may also want to look into a single stroke pneumatic like the HW40 which is also own i own or the lesser P17.
Try Pyramid air, D&L airguns or Specialty Shooting sports web pages for selection.

Feinwerkbau 65. Sold under the Beeman name at one time, as well as under the Daisy brand, as well as others.

There is a Diana springer model out there too, that sold under a couple different names as well, the identifying characteristic, is the pair of studs that stick out of the side of the spring housing. The Diana models use the Giss contra piston system to counter the recoil.

The real question that needs asking, is what's the budget? How accurate do you think you need? Are you looking for a $100 toy, or an actual quality air gun?

Cheers
Trev

Diana or Gamo has or had break action spring piston pistols. I have an old Gamo Falcon, with adjustable trigger, and its a terrific gun for indoor target shooting. Not terribly powerful though, such that it's useless for hunting anything but mice.

I am looking for something decent the first guys suggestion runs around 400 which is not unreasonable for me, but probably all that I would be willing to pay for an airgun. I am a fairly proficient marksman but there is always room for improvement, so I would need something more accurate then I am.

Also I do target shooting only.

HW 45 is a really nice pistol shoot mine a lot, Webley Tempests are probably my favorite indoor shooter harder to shoot then the HW 45 but I love the feel and size of them my wife likes how quiet they are.
Don't rule out the Webley Alecto easier to shoot then the other 2 recoiless variable power with the 3 pumps very very accurate but also louder and a handfull not heavy just a big grip .
For a good starter pistol very accurate easy to shoot recoiless and reasonable price look at the HW 40 I believe 200$ will get you into one of these .
The worst thing about air pistols is one is never enough.
Good shootin

Spring powered Air Pistol

get a fwb65/80. quite a few world records were shot by that.

I concur.

I started shooting APs competitively back in the early '70s. My first AP was a FWB Mo 65. A few years later I purchased a FWB Mo 80 which I bought in Germany while competing overseas.

Later came various CO↓2 pistols( Steyr, FWB, etc). Of the 3 that I have still left, and which I will keep, the FWB Mo 80 is probably the best spring AP I have ever shot. The springers are not seen at serious competition any longer, so perhaps you can source one from an old retired shooter like me. Mine unfortunately is not for sale.http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.png

go with a FWBwb 65, or 80 they will likely always hold their value so you won't lose a dime when you go to sell it. they are built to last forever with little service, when you miss you know its you and not the gun. I use the FWB 603, my only regret is not buying one sooner Lots of $$ worth every penny
