Anyone know of some simply ways to accurize one of these rifles?
Been trying to load for my 25-06 Ultra Hunter, to get some accuracy but only manage 1-1/2 groups at 100yrds. Is this as good as it get for these guns?

Does anyone have any experience with the Limbsaver Barrel De-resonators? Are they finicky? Easy to use?

What kind of loads are YOU guys using? I am trying to load lighter bullets like 90 sierras gamekings. Went to the range on saturday and fired some test rounds. 54grns of imr4350 came up with a little better than 1-1/2" group. Not bad, i guess, but i want better!

thanks in advance

I don't have one of those guns, but I would like to offer this advise, at least it is what I would try. I would try to work with the loads before doing anything to the gun. Hopefully others will kick in with their advise also.

1. take your best load, then load it again but this time, weight the brass and make sure that each load group is well matched by weight.

2. try adjusting you seating depth, how far are you from the lands currently? Can you go a bit closer, say 0.005" at a time.

3. this is a single shot, break action rifle. If you can, remove the forearm completely, see how it shoots without the forearm. It may be putting some pressure on the barrel. If so, then you know what to adjust.

Good luck.

I have several H&R singles, and they all shoot very well. Some were good right out of the box, others needed a little TLC. All are way better than 1.5 MOA.

Go to the Graybeard Outdoors website. They have a very active and dedicated group of H&R fans there (they call themselves "handi-holics"), and you can get a ton of very useful and helpful information on every aspect of these guns, which I think are the most gun for the money out there.

Good luck

h+r

l had a buddies 22-250 h+r that he wanted me to get to shoot decently and it had a 4 inch group at a 100 yards, first thing l did was get the trigger down to under 3 lbs, next jb welded the front of the scope base to the barrel so it was solid,it might not sound good but it works, and then l removed the oil and grease that was accumulated on the action lockup, then l started following right through with the trigger when firing,it now shoots under an inch.
