Lots of 'varmint' models of AR's out and i've spent some time reading test reports . I'm giving some thought to the XCR for varmint hunting and just wondering what could be done to improve accuracy . With selected factory and well manufactured homerolled ammo many of the 'varmint' AR's are shooting .500" to .750" over 5 shots at 100 yards . Don't know if that's possible with an XCR . Can the forend be free floated ? How about a heavy match barrel ? A competition or target trigger ? Anything anyone can think of or add , except cost . If i decide to do it , i have that covered .
Second question , would i just be better off buying a target model Black Special ? The only reason i've held off on that is because i don't like the seethru mags and i want to use LAR 10 rounders .
All comments appreciated and by they way , i'm just assuming the Black Special is more accurate out of the box than an XCR . I haven't read any XCR accuracy test , just that they shoot well .
