I'm looking into buying a savage and was curious if buying one with the accustock is worth it? If i bought one with the accustock i'm guessing i couldn't replace the stock with a aftermarket one? I want to get into some precision shooting and i was looking into either the savage 10fp or the savage 10fcp-k that has the accustock.

I don't see why you could not replace the stock with an aftermarket model. Just check on the action screw spacing.

The difference is not in the stock but the bolt spacing. If you are planning on a build of any kind and want to change out the stock anyway, save the money buy the older model. If the older model is pre accutrigger, use the money you save to get a timney.

The new Stevens have a different bolt spacing from the old ones, but I'm not sure if anything has changed with the model 10. If it has changed and has the longer bolt spacing finding a stock is a #####!
Mysticplayer will know if you PM him, or just ask the seller/dealer to measure the distance between the center of the action screws. Boyds gun stocks website has a good explaination.
