Accutrigger problem

I've been running minimum trigger weight on my 10FP since new (about 300 rounds). All of a sudden, the sear is slipping out of the notch as I rotate the bolt to close. No damage that I can see, and everything is clean. If I adjust the accutrigger by about 3/4 of a turn heavier the sear sets properly and the problem goes away. What's changed?

If it was a break-in issue I would have expected it to happen more gradually. This was quite sudden, and I'm not happy with the increased weight. It's gone from just over a pound to 2 3/4 just to function correctly.

I had the same problem with my trigger , I found it to light and if i quickly closed the bolt it would " fire" so I tightened the trigger and found it went away ,

Same with me, I could not reliably keep the trigger tuned light, if I close the bolt hard, the sear would drop and the trigger would inactivate. Had to increase the wt to stop this. From what I hear this is common, Mystic, probably knows how to fix it.

the standard accutrigger is designed to have a min weight around 2lbs. The fact that you got it under is great but as you found out, unreliable.

If you want UNDER 2lbs, you can put in a rifle basix or timney trigger.

that the safest way to get light trigger pulls.

Pretty sure my manual says 1.5lbs at the lightest.

I have mine set to under that (safely). I can slam the bolt home as hard and fast as I possibly can with no slam firing.

Obviously YMMV.

The target version will not fire if you touch the trigger before the "accu-release" is fully depressed. You have to recock the rifle if you do. It use to drive me crazy but I got use to it. Give that a try, make sure you fully depress the accu-release before you touch the trigger.
