ace 22 conversion

hello, I am looking for parts for colts 22 conversion. specifically the slide stop and recoil spring plug.anybody explain why I need a special slide stop. can't see it.

Just a guess but in a regular 45 the follower in the mag pushes up the slide stop when the mag runs dry to activate it.

A 22 mag would be much thinner inside & have a thinner follower and would not work the slide stop the same way. Plus it is a different slide.

Just a guess though.
