ACE #! Barrel Removal

Unless the Ace is different than other Cooey single shots, unscrew the locking stud, and push out the barrel.

There is the "locking stud" easily removed or should already be off. Then there is the pin, try and drive it out I dare you!!! Or you can drill it out, good luck with that!.
If the chamber has split at the extractor cut, cut the barrel off at the receiver and drill out what's left.
Push the barrel out, it's easier to just bend the breach and smear jam on your ears.
Or but another rifle.

The repeaters have pinned barrels. Singles have the stud which retains the barrel, and into which the takedown screw threads.
I've not seen a Cooey that had both a pin and a stud.

You are right. But you still have to push the barrel out regardless be it a 39, 75, 82, 60 or 600.
I wish you good luck. That's why they get drilled out.

I have made a bushing that the barrel slides into and the shoulder of the action butts up against this bushing... and then make a flat end punch that slides into the action freely... and drive the barrel out if you don't have a press.

I suspect that is how the majority of smiths remove them...

Yeah, pretty much what I would have suggested, a hydraulic press would make pretty quick work of that.

A drilled hole in some heavy(ish) bar stock so the action can butt against it solid and square, and a nice punch that fits down the inside, and away you go.

Whats the shank size on these? I love the simple action and trigger but need a new barrel.

I don't have one in front of me right now to measure... but I believe you are going to have to use a gunsmith and I am sure the smith will be able to figure it out...
