Ack.. What to do?

Started saving for an AR type rifle. I'm banging my head and can't decided what to by. I can buy the Norinco clone now, the AR180B shortly, but really want a 'real' one(looking at the Stag from Armseast). Oh...the pain. What to do?
 
Really depends on if you want restricted vs. non-restricted. If I go out quading I can take my AR180B with me no prob. My AR15 would just sit at home until the next time I went to the range after having to obtain an ATT. The AR180B is a nice rifle and can be as pimped as much as you want it. At this point one can only hope and the AR type rifles will eventually be de-restricted.
 
Buy what you really want. Get the lower first. Then it's registered. Questar, Wolverines, Armseast, even www.p-d-ent.com
all have complete lowers for sale from good manufacturers.
Once you have the lower bought, then you can buy uppers to suit your fancy.

I can honestly say that the best route to take is to buy a stripped lower reciever, then go from there. There is SO MUCH information out there, SO MANY pictures, and, most importantly, SO MUCH #### you can hang off of your rifle, I'd take it slow until you know exactly what you want.

Wolverine Supplies has Eagle Arms stripped lower recievers for $238, which is the absolute best price for a stripped lower in Canada. Order one, and if you ask nicely, they'll let you pick the serial number from a list.

Oh, and go make an account at AR15.com Start looking at photos there, there's a tonne of photo threads.
 
Don't know of too many people who regret an AR purchase. Save & buy the Stag, or start with a lower as others have suggested and add on as you can afford it. Either way I don't think you will be dissapointed.

Have you shot a CZ 58/858 ? If not shoot one before spending your hard earned cash.
 
Oh, I dunno, Flobablob, one can't really make a comparison between the two.

If you want an AR, save for it. AR180's are a whole different beast, and I would not wish a norinco on my enemies.

If you buy a stripped lower and build it, thats good too, but make sure you have all the right tools when you do it. Parts guns can be as good as assembled guns, as long as it's not slapped together on the kitchen table.
