Anyone know of a good ACOG clone? Yes I know buying the real thing is better, but I don't have 1000+ dollars sitting around for an optic.

Thanks in Advance :D

I've had the Colt 4x AR clone & the Elcan clone. Both were a real POS!!!!
Elcan looked real, but the sight lines were not correct & very fine. It also had about 1/4" of eye relief. The Colt clone had ok optics & eye relief, but the cheap mounting system came loose after every shot.
Not worth the money. I've also had a few Fitco scopes, also junk, fuzzy at high mag. & break easy.

Optics are one of those things you can't really go cheap on. It's a precision engineered device and most replicas are just that. They imitate the appearance of the ACOG but don't even come close in terms of capability. The ACOG is worth every penny, save the $100 you'd spend on a knock-off, save up and get the real thing, you will have to eventually.

IF you are putting it on anything bigger than a 22, then I hope you are just putting it on for looks. Had 5 chicoms, only one still running.

Stick with irons and save your pennies.

You'll save a little more than $100 buying a clone, but I still agree. If the Acog is too expensive, why not try a leupold 1-5X scope?

I understand that a knockoff won't be the same quality, but I just can't justify spending that much money. I don't care what anyone says, there is just not 1500 dollars worth of technology in an ACOG. They are making some serious coin on them.

truer words were never said. The price on these units are worth :puke:ing over.
Just my two cents, If i have change please let me know:D

If you are looking for a tacky type optics, I suggest you wait abit. Right now US trials are going on from just about every optics maker on this planet. The US gov't wants optics and is bringing a cheque book.

Sooner or later, mass production will bring any favorable model to sportsmans doors. Pricing will be substantially lower then the current 'must haves'.

Bushnell has already played with non optics/red dot type optics. They function way better then the Chinese models. Soon magnified units will start popping up everywhere.

Yes, these low mag optics are very easy to make nowadays but with exclusivity comes margin. Congrats to Eotech and Trigicon for developing a strong need in the market place.

Others will follow. I expect the announcements at the SHOT show in Feb to have lots of yummy toys.
