Acog ta55

I just bought an ACOG TA55. It's a 5.5x50 power unit. One thing that is odd though. On the body of the scope, in raised letters just above the mount, it says 3.5x35. The glass says 5.5 and I measured the objective at 50mm, so it is indeed a 5.5x50.

I can't figure out why there is the inconsistency in labeling. Do they build the TA55 around the body of the TA11? That's the only reason I can think of.

Sounds like an accident on the production line. If you are concerned, you can call Trijicon, give them the serial of your ACOG and they will tell you what it was built as.

You sure you bought a real one and not a fake?

No offense meant, but It's a valid question considering the realism of the knock off junk coming out these days.

Do they build the TA55 around the body of the TA11? That's the only reason I can think of.

Start off with the same basic forging

They are built off of TA11's. Same body.
