Herron finished the install of the non restricted barrel on my ACR, and it arrived yesterday. I went with a 1 in 8" Bartlein barrel, and no flash hider or brake, and the rifle weighs in at just under 9 lbs. I just installed the Geissele trigger, and now I need to purchase some rings and a scope, before doing some load development.

Nice, my 450 is in the mail.

??? Usually a post like that would include pictures.

Why tell us you got a rifle then?

I got a rifle. I am just telling you. ??

Because I don't put useless garbage on my rifles. I am not in the military, so a flash hider serves no purpose, and all that a brake does on a heavy 223, is increase the noise to the shooter.

But what about the mall ninjas? They're gonna be so confused. They read somewhere that you need that stuff, without a brake that 223 might bruise your shoulder with the intense recoil, and what about the faster follow-up shots?

Most people can't understand why I put a linear comp on most of my rifles now. It's quieter is the first response plus you have to have something to protect the muzzle threads. I opted for no threads on my 6.8 conversion barrel and put a linear on my 300BLK barrel.

Feel free to post pics and range reports in the ACR info and media thread. We try not to let it drop below page 2 and hopefully one of the mods will make it a sticky soon.

Let's see some pics :)

I will leave it to those mall ninjas to waste money on cosmetic nonsense.I paid good money to have a quality barrel, and a good trigger; but I purchase firearms to shoot them, not to look at them. Once I get a scope installed, and do some load development; I will post the results. My goal is to have a reasonably accurate rifle that I can use for hunting coyotes, or target shoot from time to time, not to see how fast I can empty a magazine at the range.
