I am planning my next NR purchase and have narrowed it down to an ACR vs Swiss Arms decision.

I can't seem to break the tie so I was hoping that some of my fellow CGNners could help shed some light on this.

The Swiss Arms seems to be used by many LE and foreign militaries where the ACR doesn't appear to be used by anyone. Also the ACR doesn't seem to get very much love on American gun owner chat forums. But I do understand that the Americans have the all mighty AR-15 to chose from, so why even consider any other platform haha.

If I was to get an ACR I would be getting a re-barreled restricted model and NOT the DMR version of the rifle.

I also have a number of AR-15 magazines and LAR 10 round pistol mags, so the ACR accepting STANAG magazines is definitely a fairly large bonus in the decision making.

I have owned both and I preferred the ACR to be honest. Mine was reliable, accurate and seemed to be built ok for the most part. ACRs I've heard are hit and miss in regards to their construction. The Swiss Arms on the other hand are very, very well built rifles. I own a CQB with Dioptre sights and can hit an 8" target at 100m no problem so the potential for accuracy is there with the Swiss Arms. I think I preferred the ACR due to its modularity and the fact that it's optic ready.

I'm pretty biased with my opinion in the Swiss Arms favour, so I'll spare you that in this thread, but I will say I HIGHLY recommend shooting both if you can, and shoot them at distance too (300 + meters if possible).

Swiss Arms. But the price is getting very expensive now. If you get the flat top, get Bauer AR15 rings, expensive,
but they are one of the best. If you don't, get the rail for the rings

Take it from someone who owns both, me! If you absolutely cannot get both, get the ACR BUT get the geiselle super ACR trigger, the swiss arms trigger is divine, it is a gift from the gods.

The ACR stocks are both of the best stocks on any semiauto ever created in my opinion, after market acessories, able to mount optics, etc.

Page two and no poi shift talk yet? Unbelievable:p

Ok I'll be that guy, if you lean on your Swissy like a monkey at the zoo.....the poi will shift:cool:

Shot both, like both, own the Swiss.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I am sure that they are both very nice rifles for sure! It seems like more people are in the ACR camp though, can anyone shed some light on to which areas the ACR outperforms the Swiss Arms? And vice versa?

Does anyone know if the ACR is used by any LE/Military anywhere in the world? Just a quick Wikipedia search revealed the swiss arms is used by A LOT of foreign and even some domestic LE/MIL where not so much for the ACR. Although this shouldn't really matter, it is very hard to argue against a gun that is used by so many government agencies around the world

read my post

ACR wins on stock and after market options like mounting optics and scopes
SWISS wins on trigger and a no frills approach

The ACR is used by the Polish special forces GROM. It is not there main rifle but I know they use it. Remington is making the LE/Military version of the ACR and bushmaster is making the civilian version of I am not mistaking.
