Has anyone managed to get one of the custom ACR rails out of the US? I know the Argonauts rail is out there and there is another guy making them too. If not, can the MOE fore arm be bought on it's own? I have an enhanced model on order but I'm not a huge fan of the quad rail.

Also, is there such a thing as a basic folding stock? I like the basic stock but would rather it folded.

I haven't heard of any aftermarket forends coming into Canada.
Some guys are ordering the airsoft extended non quadrail forend from ebay and Wolverine had a couple stocks on their website long ago. You could order parts straight from Gravel but delivery is slow.
I used to have both the standard and folding stock and there really wasn't much difference from what I can remember other than it didn't fold and was fixed length. I prefer the folder and sold the other.

delivery is slow.

Agreed, have an order in for a customer on the basic fore grip with no ETA of delivery on the horizon.

Nexus 9 tactical makes some promising looking aftermarket parts that are rumoured to be soon on the market, with hand guards weighing from 1.5oz to 4oz.

Ooo I like the look of that. I just came into an ACR on a trade, but not sure I want to keep it. If I do I will definitely be upgrading to this if it makes its way up here.

For some reason I find the folder to be lighter? maybe just a smudge
I find the fixed stock to be more comfortable

I've seen the MOE handguard somewhere but I'm not sure where that was... They are available tho, and to be honest you won't gain anything by going with an aftermarket handguard, the factory basic is great.

I have the basic acr, and the handgard I really really love, been thinking about building or buying an moe AR now. I thought maybe it would be too thick for my girlie hands but it actually feels really good.

No they don't. Both are also between production runs for most of their line up.

If there was interest in a group buy of either we can make that happen, PM with interest but I'd have to say that a minimum order of 5 - 10 units is the only way to make the purchase semi affordable. Basically the more on board with the buy the better we can disperse associated fees and make each unit more affordable overall.

I've heard better reviews of Clandestine BTW.

I would for sure go for one Clandestine short, maybe also a long one. Both in a staggered pattern to mimic the Remington ACR.

The problem I have with both models is that to my knowledge they both do not retain the "quick take-down" featurr that the factory ACR handguards have. I have to do more reading though.

If it does not retain the same speedy takedown, I would rather make a push for a local (Canadian) manufacturer (Likely M14.ca) to come up with a canadian made user input designed piece. It would be nice to see a Remington style handguard copied, but then in place of the traditional "MOE" mounting slots, do M-LOK.

We never know maybe Remington opening up the MIL/LE product line for civies sale (some of it anyway) means we'll eventually see their ACR and parts on the market.
Mine is set up as a basic folder and personally the only things I'd really like to be able to get are full piston kit or even barrels and bolts. The thing I dream of but haven't heard of since the Masada days is an AK lower... Now that would be sweet.

Something else I wpuld like to see:
From what I read it can be locked open to be used as a barricade stop too... pretty neat.

Betcha M14.ca could help. Thats anther thing I would be interested in. I would prefer VZ though as I have VZ mags and they allow last round bolt hold open function as well. ;)
