hi i bought a rem870 i did handle the model and was quite nice
thing is i didn't notice but i think i got slipped a left handed gun wile i am right handed
(wasn't the same gun that i handled)
now its my comprehension that the bar only needs to be used once to pull back the slide
and that while shooting i can rack the slide .
but i should be able to operate the bar with my right index right ? :confused:

well the bar is on the other side what do you suggest ( the purchase is fairly recent and new )

so i guess my question is : is the rem 870 " hand wise" ? ( by that i mean optimized for right or left handed) think i could have the shop swap the trigger assembly or something ?

Eric we need pictures. An 870 is a pump. The shell ejection port for a right handed person will be on the right side. The shell ejection port will be on the left side for a southpaw.

well sorry pictures will need to wait a little .
let me explain more however
my exit port is on the right but the "button" that releases the slide ( forward handle) is located on the left side of the trigger guard.

i find this position quite annoying since i need to take my right hand position completely to the front of the trigger guard and i don't mean a slight move forward here i am almost one handing the gun at that moment and using my thumb to press the lever very discomforting , if it be on the other side i could use my right index and a slight move forward to press / action that lever .

"...any after market parts to "fix" that...'" It isn't broken. There's no place to put an aftermarket part anyway.
