Hi There,

I'l looking forward to build a long range rifle in 338 lapua mag... want it to be reapeter.....

What would be a good and affordable action to start the project?

let me know,

Phil

Myself, if I was going to build a 338 Lapua rifle I would go big or go home. I am currently waiting on a PGW Timberwolf action that is being modified for 300WM. 338 Lapua is only allowed at one range that I know of in Ontario so I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a rifle that I couldn't use very much.
Why not continue to save and get a PGW action? Very pricey but well worth it.

only one range?? ..well i shoot it at guelph, shoot it at twin city, shoot it at mon's range i know canaught and i believe kingston as well alow it still, hell ive touched off a few rounds at colby indoor range!??!
looots of ranges to use it at!.

I was told that only the Range at Borden allows .338:( That's too bad. Oh well I can hardly afford the rifle I am building let alone the cost of .338 Lapua ammo.

Borden will allow .338 but I don't think Connaught will allow it. Kingston is not templated for it.

I hope you have it in hand

building mine on a nesika and it is sweet
dont skimp or youll be sorry

I have just seen a e-mail from the Canadian BR team site where Dakota Arms/Nesika has filed for bankruptcy protection. If you do not have the action I would do some serious inquiring if you have dished any money out.

If affordable is one of your criteria forget about the .338 Lapua altogether. There are cheaper big .338's that will work well.

338lm was not allowed at Connaught but I see from the "range standing orders" that they now do "with permission from range control".

In other words forget it unless you are one of the blessed.
