Just wondering your opinion on action screw torque. any suggestions on proper torque or should i find a load that works in my rifle and then reload and start low with torque and work up to see if group tightens up at all ? Thanks for your thoughts and input.

45 inch/pounds for wood and synthetics.

65 inch/pounds for aluminum block or pillar bedded stocks.*

These are the standards.

*If you are using OEM bottom metal stay with 45 inch/pounds as they may crack.

I don't worry about torque. The rifle is bedded correctly and the screws keep the action from falling out of the stock. A dab of Locktite to help against vibration and two fingers snug.

Good advice. Start with properly bedding the action in the stock. Then action bolt torque only needs to be enough to keep the bolt from loosening. If you need to retighten bolt often, check bedding.

The bolts should not loosen under normal use even without loctite.

Action bolts are not designed to be load bearing.

Needing heavy torque on a bolt indicates poor bedding.
