Action suggestions for JAE-700 Stock??

Hi everyone,

I recently recieved a J Allen JAE-700 stock and I would like to put a really great action on it so I can use it for both precision matches and F class. The JAE-700 stock is made to fit a Remington 700 but I would like to put something better on it. I wonder if any of you can make suggestions for repeater actions that are available in Canada and perhaps who I might contact to get one?

I've been in touch with Hirsch Precision for the SM action but any other ideas? I like Stiller and Surgeon but where to get in Canada?

My experience with Stiller was less than stellar. Surgeon are excellent. At a lower price point I really like the Defiance.

I have a Stiller TAC-30 in my JAE-700. I haven't experiences anything negative with it.

Robertson Composites used to get them in but they are no longer in business.

My next build I think I will be going with a Defiance or ATRS

Being an Albertan I'm a huge supporter of ATRS, I really want to build on their Mavrick action. It's a thing of beauty.
But I have a good friend that just built a 260 off of a Barnard action and that thing shoots like a house on fire! There's something about the Barnard but it feels like a bloody bank vault when you close it. And the trigger that came with his P action is really nice once adjusted.

My two suggestions would be, in no particuliar order:
- Infidel or Maverick from ATRS
- Surgeon repeater 591's (get it put together as they can be a bit of a pain in the ar$e)

I have a Stiller Tac 30 in mine. No issues with it so far. Got it from North Shore Barrels. (CGN name Juanvaldez)

I have a barnard S, single shot version of the SM, its definitely a very solid due to their design, and I really like their simple bolt design that requires no special tool to disassemble. But of course some of this is personal preference, best is if you can examine a few in front of you and decide from that.

I got my Defiance from Rick at ATRS. I don't have a lead on a Surgeon. Perhaps try the better known dealers.

Thank you all very much for your advice.
You pointed out a couple dealers that I was not aware of.
I never heard of Aberta Tactical or R P S international and it looks like R P S can bring in Surgeon, Bat, Nesika and Barnard.
Although I heard from a very good gunsmith that Defiance was actually better than Surgeon from an installation point of view. He said he had to do some special fitting with the Surgeons that he felt should not be required on an action of that cost. Otherwise they are a nice sturdy action.
