I just got a Zastava stainless rifle in 6.5x55 and I need to find another stock for it, the LOP is way too long for my wife, so that I can cut it down. The chances of me finding a replacement stock for the rifle could be slim so I was wondering if there are any other stocks that I could alter to fit that action.

Thanks

Get a stock from Boyd's Gun Stocks or Ian Robertson who is a Canadian stockmaker and frequents this site. His call sign is ianrobertson.

Any 98 style Mauser style stock will fit fine. There are some very nice laminated and completely finished stocks out there at very reasonable prices

The only stock Boyd's lists for Zastava is the Field design. For Santa Barbara actions the list is more extensive, the question is will it fit? I don't mind removing wood just don't want any gaps between wood and metal.

I do have a stock that will be coming my way but still would like to know for knowledge sake if I can fit a stock without any gaps.

Thanks for the replies.

Try searching for stocks for Remington 798. They were zastava rifles imported for Remington a while back, might be a few more choices.
