I opened up my mail yesterday and there was an envolpoe from a certain dealer in Alberta, The add was for the new Remington pump in 223 that uses the AR-15 mags .

Any how on this add it says you can leagally use unpinned 10/20/30 round ar-15 mags in it. I know this topic is done to death but what is the real scoop on this ?

The magazines that are specifically made for it will not fit in ar-15's .
You cannot use unpinned ar-15 magazines in it.

I caught this on the Remintong website:

"The Model 7615P comes in .223 Remington caliber, uses standard M16/AR15 style magazines and has a 16 1/2" barrel."

It is possible that "style" just means looks and in fact they are different... does anyone know for sure?

I am confused by this issue as well. Go to www.Milarm.com, then click on specials.
The ad for the 7615P says, "Uses a legal full capacity 20 round AR 15 magazine"
Some conflicting interpretations of the Firearms Act?
Someone is going to get in trouble. Unless the mags are modified to NOT work in an AR, still though, seems like a scary area to be screwing around in.

I have held the gun in my hands. The gun uses unpinned AR-15 mags. The mag supplied with the gun will fit in an AR-15. They have been selling it for a month, the CFC is doing transfers, and Customs is letting it through. Last time I posted on this topic the thread "Disappeared".

Strange I just got off the phone with a 1-800-731-4000 employee  I was asking about this rifle and she had no clue.

I said "Remington Model 7615 or 7615P" and she said they didn't exist ;)

I was like... no, they do... she was like "No, there is only a "760 Game Master" and something else... and that they were both "4 shot only!"

heheh... so yeah... fun times.

I have also heard that they take a standard AR mag and it is fully legal to have it unpinned although it is centerfire, it is a pump aciton rifle

So Reaper, how exactly is MilArm getting around this then? Their ad makes it sound like it is using unpinned AR15 mags.
I don't want one, but I don't want to see anyone lose their guns over some misunderstanding between "us" and "them".

Nope if the magazine IS INTENDED BY DESIGN for use in an AR15 then it must be pinned to 5 rounds REGARDLESS OF THE RIFLE IT IS USED IN.

Absolutely correct. Conversely, if a magazine is intended by design or manufacture for use in a manual repeater, it does not need to be pinned regardless of the rifle it is used in.

A very valid argument could be made that a magazine showing up in the same box as a 7615P was manufactured for a manual repeater.

The greay area is that the mags are marked "Remington Model 7615" and there for are not "designed for use in a semi-atuo centerfire".

This loop hole, how ever, is still debateable.

i have a 7615 and am in the process of finding out the answer to just this question from the almighty RCMP. the CFC just passed the buck from phone guy to phone guy untill they passed me off to the top of the ladder. the only place higher i could go would be court. i'll keep you all posted.

this is the five round bushmaster my 7615 came with. the top line is the magwell limit of the 7615. the bottom is from an AR. so if a mag is made that has a nub at the AR line then it should be ok. remember the mag can't be a modified AR body but a new mag all together.

I wouldn't put much stock in anything I was told or seen at Milarm.
