How hard is it to install one of the above mentioned detachable mag systems to a rifle that has already been inletted and bedded for an action with a Rem 700 footprint?

It's not the action footprint that will be of concern, it's the area that's been inletted for the Remington OEM bottom metal. Don't know about the VBull, but I know for a fact that you will have to do some inletting work to install the Badger bottom metal as it is bigger/thicker than the OEM unit...

hsld.

I have installed both in two different HS Precission stocks (the kind with the full length bedding block).

The Badger Ordnance is a pain in the a$$ as it has curves and also requires the aluminum pillars to be shortened. I did it on a mill. It worked out ok but it is not friendly.

The Vbull is by far the easiest of the two. The sides of the bottom metal are parallel and once the stock is set up properly in the mill it is a simple process. The pillars do not need to be shortened but the cut out in the aluminum bedding block needs to enlarged. The Vbull is also a much better, higher quality part even though they use the same mag.

Both require a mill to do properly in this type of stock with the aluminum bedding block. A wood stock could be done without it, maybe with a router or even by hand.
