Adding a bolt knob to a Remington M24

Is it an actual, factory M24 from Remington? Doing anything to it, such as a bolt knob, will certainly devalue it in the eyes of a possible collector/buyer.

I have a buddy who has one, recommended he not do it, but it's his rifle, he can do whatever he wanted with it.

When he sells it to me, I'd give him $1k less for screwimg with it.

Probably best to install a slip on rubber knob?
Retains 100% value as you simply slip it off when needed, and gives added size which may be what your looking for.
Will never be like a custom job, but can be a compromise.

Threading a Remington 700 bolt for a bolt knob is a pretty permanent modification and on your M24 probably not a good idea for resale. However, you can use a slip on bolt know or depending on how far you want to go you could get a second bolt like the one piece unit from Pacific Tool and Gauge and have it head spaced to your rifle and use that. If you choose to sell later on, you have the original bolt plus the PTG. Just a thought.

You will reduce the value and also greatly reduce the market of potential buyers if you were ever to sell it. Most people that would be in the market for a m24 probably want it more for its collectbillty and will want it original and probably have other rifles for modding.

That said, it’s your rifle so do as you please.

+1 for the KRG bolt lift. Go Big Tactical has them. 2 sizes, a few colours. Simple installation and solid feel. Under $50. mine shipped letter mai. No permanent mods. (I got mine elsewhere bit GBT should have them and they're good to deal with)

Thanks everyone, yes we do have them in stock and please reach out to us if you would be interested in one by regular mail (online store only does expedited). An excellent solution to your request as others have mentioned
