Hey guys,
I just picked up a project 870. Still debating whether I am going to go with a Vang comp porting option or use chokes in it. But I have a quick question.
My Remington appears to be just a straight cylinder. I am framiliar with the different kind of chokes (cylinder, modified, full, etc) and what they do to affect spread pattern. That said I am not really framiliar with how Chokes are installed. I imagine the barrel is threaded internally and you just screw them in, but my barrel does not appear to be able to do that. Do I need to have a gun smith mill in threading, or buy a new barrel?
I also see there are some chokes that mount onto the front sight post and secured on, but I don't have much faith in that.
If a shotgun guru could show me the path, I would appreciate it.
