Anyone done this? I don't know too much about the stuff and I'm cheap (it's a Girsan hahaha) can I do it cheaper than ordering a V2 with the slide for it from IRG and swapping that on? Will V2 stuff be compatible?
Sorry for being a noob.

I don't know anything about that handgun but with most you can get the slide milled if there's enough depth. If by V2 you mean the entire handgun, that's not possible because of the freeze. However, you are allowed to order slides. Since I don't know anything about that handgun I'll let other members speak towards compatibility.

If I remember right, IRG will send you everything but the serialized part if you order a handgun from the US store.

No clue on this pistol, but I have used dovetail mounts in a couple 1911's 45acp with no problem.
A milled slide is nice , but getting it done is not cheap, no idea what a slide is worth for these.
I have used a grip mount as well, but they look silly as does the rail mount.
I do have a dovetail mount but it's not for this gun.

What's a ballpark price to get the slide milled?

Since I see no one commented back, Black Box customs is one of the go-to places in Canada for work like that. Slide milling for an optic is around $200, but if I remember hearing correctly, BB requires you to get your gun refinished (cerakoted) by them afterwards so that their name isn't on anything resembling bare metal. There is also fees for disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, etc.

By all accounts they do fantastic work and are good with their customer service. I bet if you reach out to them you'd get your answer pretty quickly and easily

Thanks guys. Gonna have to think about it. It is a Girsan after all but I don’t have many options right now.
