Wanting to add front sights to a ruger m77 and to install a peep sight on the rear. Catch is rear peep must be permanently installed and used when scope is removed. Thought of drilling and tap on rifle scope base.
Any suggestions

I would get a factory banded front, if you insist on a permanently attached rear peep - you could likely sneak a skinner low pro peep behind the rear ring and leave it in place but it would require a single #6-48 hole be drilled and tapped. However if you need to remove the scope anyways, is it hard to tighten a NECG rear peep on the ring seat? That way you don’t alter the receiver, have more adjustability and likely a stronger setup.

Thanks DG, I was hoping you would chime in. I was leaning to the ruger front sight style and trying to find info on where to purchase one besides the states at the moment. As for the peep, I will have to play around with what I currently have and scope height if it will work. Only reason to have it on the rifle is it will be there when needed and not looking for the add on(necg style) in my pocket or pack if I remembered to put in.
