decided to get into reloading since im buying a centerfire rifle, going to be just 9mm and .223 right now. ive decided on the lee classic turret kit from cabela's, been reading the lymans manual (great resource so far). wondering for experienced reloaders if there was anything you would add to the kit that isnt strictly needed but you wished you had when you started.

also, what type of die sets should i be looking at? prefer to just buy these once and have them last even when i upgrade presses

Can't go wrong with Lee dies to go with your Lee Classic. Great press!! A good scale is very important and the Lee scale is not the greatest!!! RCBS or Lyman will be easier to use. As time goes by you will find all sorts of "must haves" Have fun.

A set of calipers is a must have. A powder trickler is handy. Lee makes some case prep tools for trimming and deburring that quite cost effective.
You cant have too many books.
Welcome to reloading, good luck and have fun.
Cheers!

1)a tumbler to clean your brass and "media" to go in the tumbler that does the cleaning.
2) a media seperator : its like a lotto drum that you dump all your brass and media into, then rotate it and the media falls through the cracks into a tub, and you are left with the clean brass.

Cod is right, a set of digital calipers are the one thing that you will find indispensible.....I have found Mititoyo digital calipers to be very good quality and extremely consistent.
The rest of the reloading gear you will purchase any way.

got a dial caliper already so im set there. i guess you guys are right that ill figure out what else ill need as i go. time to give the credit card a work out

you will find a digital scale much more handy than the balance scale that comes with the kits. Much faster to read and for the added cost, a great benefit as I found it much more accurate .A primer pocket brush is also a good thing to have.
