Addley precission scope mounts

I have one on my Lee Enfield No4 mk1. It mounted in 10 minutes and it is rock solid. In addition, you can still remove the bolt for cleaning. An excellent scope mount.

Well, I talked to Gerry at Addley, and after he had addressed my concerns, I have ordered one. Should be here in a few days, I'll pass on the results, after I figure out which rings and scope to use and put a few rounds downrange.

Well the mount arrived, fairly easy to install a definetly don't require the services of a gunsmith. My Lee Enfield is quite old (1918), and after a few trial fits, I found that I needed to file a little material off the mount as it was contacting the chamber section and thus not sitting flush on the reciever. After removing a little off the edge of the mount, it fit to perfection. Using the supplied drill bits, clamp and tap, I installed the mount using a bit of blue lock tite for added security. I decided on a Redfield Revolution in 2-7 power along with Weaver mounts. Prophet River in Lloydminster supplied the scope and it arrived a few days later. After mounting the scope, a trip to the range was in order, After sighting it in, I was able to fine tune it to put 3 shots ( Winchester 180gr.) into a 1.75 inch group 2" high at 100 metres. Although this is a reasonable group for hunting, I am going to epoxy bed the receiver to see if I can improve on this. I will know in a couple of weeks. In any event this mount is certainly skookum enough to get my recommendation. The bolt is easily removable for cleaning and the way it is profiled on the inside permits expended rounds to eject with no hangups.
