Finally got my rifle back from the Smith and did basic bore sight zero. I followed the instructions in this book and it all seemed fairly straightforward to me. Once you understand the order of operations, it's old pretty simply to accomplish.

Hold turret with one hand and unlock turret with other hand. Either adjust the reticle (inner) or hold the reticle in place and adjust the turret to the desired range setting. Hold reticle in place and re-lock the turret. Not sure why everyone seems to think it is so difficult and takes 3 hands?

I noticed from your earlier photos that you were sold the repro No 32 scope that is marketed by "WaffenMeister" through their website or eBay. I plan to start a thread on repro No 32 Scopes when I get out of hospital (revision surgery to my Right stump) in a few days time. I have now owned both types of repro No 32 Mk Ii scope currently on the market and will provide photos and my observations to assist those who are looking to create a sniper clone or are seeking to replace a genuine, 80-year old optic with a repro for live fire.

Until then, be content in the knowledge that you lucked out and received the better of the two brands based on my first-hand research.

It wasn't luck. I did some reading and talked to Warren? on this board and followed the suggestions to avoid the RSM scope.

I had the rifle out to zero it yesterday and had a couple of opportunities to test my theory that adjusting the No32 scope is "easy".

My initial bore sighting went really well, with the first round hitting less than an inch off the bull at 50yds. Shot a 100yd group and then attempted to final adjust the elevation turret. Something went weird and it ended up hitting very low after my adjustment. Clearly I did something wrong. Adjusted elevation setting and reset the turret a second time. Fired more rounds and they were dead on at 100yds. :)

I'm running 150gr bullets so it will take some more experience with those to see how they correlate to the elevation turret markings. I'm pretty sure it will be fine out to 200-300 yds and don't seriously see shooting this rifle much beyond that. The 3.5x scope is just not powerful enough at longer distances.
