I'm looking for an adjustable cheek riser rear stock that's both at home on goose hunt as on a scoped cantilever slug hunt. It's for a combination barrel 870.... What's out there?

Not much as I recall. I built one years ago using graco hardware. I had to fill the hollow stock with filler in order to give me something to bed the posts into. At the end of the day, I had a stock I had to jack way up in order to get a cheek weld and see through the scope, but it had to be jacked way down and didnt let you get down far enough to get on the bead without shooting high. I recommend you get one of those "beartooth" comb riser kits and try that when you run the scope.

I eventually sold the stock I built and fitted my 870 with a knoxx stock with a high comb. Its now a dedicated slug gun.

You can buy different height cheek risers for the Magpul SGA stock .... it is not adjustable on the fly ....
but those cheek risers can be switched out with just a screw driver .....

Cheek riser

I bought 3 of those a year or so ago to get up to the scope on my .223 and .22s - they work fine, a little cushioning, though the straps have to be 'fiddled' to make work. Didn't try them on my shotties, no scopes there . . . yet. They were only $9.99 then, should have bought a dozen  I've seen them cheaper than $19 lately, but didn't buy them. Maybe they've gone up since last I saw them. Still better than $50 + for the 'high-priced spread' of the leather ones. Shop around - YMMV

And something like this is more 'adjustable' than having to remove or add padding to the cheap ones. But $75 or so is pretty pricey . . . I'd make one first, just a bit of plastic and some bolts. Keep shopping . . .

I put this one on both my rifles. Works great. To check height just mount your rifle then settle in with your eyes closed....when you open your eye you should be looking through your scope. Add a foam shim of some kind if you need to raise the pad higher. They are a lot warmer on the face on cold mornings and evenings too. I Have a camo one on my shotgun,...worked like a charm last Sunday while I waited to wallop ole Tom turkey! Nice and soft on the face when I blasted him.

I am not sure if they are still being produced but I bought an ATI Akita adjustable stock from Tenda 2 years ago. The length and comb are both adjustable. I think I only spent $100 on it at most. I lo longer have the stock or shotgun now though. Quality was pretty decent though
