You need to find a stock maker, not necessarily a gunsmith. The trap and skeet shooters must have their favourites. Keep asking.
Many years ago I wanted to build a cheek riser into a target rifle stock. I sketched and planned, and borrowed some equipment to do it myself. The work wasn't hard, just careful.

Vic Tomlinson does great work and his turnaround time is FAST. He did this Citori XS Skeet 20 for me. He makes all his own hardware in house. Turnaround time was less than 72 hours!!

+1 for Vic Tomlinson, he just did a length of pull extension for me and his work is amazing. Lots of attention to detail and I had my gun back in my hands in less than a week
