So i love my little sub2k almost as much as I love to play around and modify rifles. Im 6'2 and the LOP was just a little to short for me so I started to think of how I could put an adjustable buffer and Magpul MOE buttstock on it.

Of course the problem with this idea is the action of this particular rifle. It is a blowback design and the bolt, spring and buffer are all placed inside of the rear tube or stock. But I came up with a little idea and it worked out great.

Started by taking a standar milspec buffer tube and cutting it down to a rough size I wanted to work with.

Now the inside dimensions of the buffer tube are just slightly tighter that the overal diameter of the factory Keltec tube. So off to work with a file I went. I was thinking about boring it out with a drill but I wanted to get a real tight fit so a little at a time.

The next little problem is that the Sub2000 buffer tube is actual held in with a pin running thru the factory butt pad.

My overal goal was to keep all factory parts un modified in case I wanted to return it back to its original shape. I had to come up with a shorter pin to hold the buffer so I cut down a bolt.

Now here is where some of the picture taking stopped as I got excited it was all coming together the way I wanted. But next the modified buffer tube was drilled so that the pin can be removed for cleaning without any extra work accept to remove the butt pad.

Well thats pretty much it. Still waiting for my tube cover from "tacticool.com" should make the overal tube dimension look a little closer to dimension of the buffer tube. On to the next project gettng rid of that ugly forend. Magpul going on there aswell. And yes the adjustable trigger works. In its fully collapsed setting its a little shorter that stock and full length adds about 3"

Nice work! Good to see people coming up with new ideas.

I have to admit though, I find the length of pull a little long on the Sub 2000. I'm 6' 2" as well, but I shoot with my CTR fully collapsed on my AR.

take the pics down and patent that asap
an aftermarket adjustable LOP buffer tube for the sub could be worth some money man
Looks great
how did you fasten the M4 tube to the sub? is it just a tight interfierence fit or..?

Yeah it just a friction fit but it isnt moving, takes a very large pair of pliers and alot of effort just to get it to spin, it does come off if needed. This is how I wanted it so it took alot of filing.

People on the Keltec Forums have been wanting to see the bolt hold open function and the clearance so Ill post that here aswell.
