Adjustable stock question ??

Ok I went out on Saturday and found that the adjustable comb on my shotgun had become loose enough to move down a notch or two. It took me two round to get it back to where I like it

Now I was told that I can put washers in between the stock on the adjustable comb so that it never happens again ? Has anyone done this before and have any recommendations as to what kind of washer or anything else that would do the trick ??

Alot of the guys at our club do that. Not becuase their combs move alot but so that it never does. Most of the guys use nylon washers so that they don't gouge the wood at all.

In the days when I used an adjustable comb I used pieces of clear flexible plastic tubing cut to length and put over the posts in the stock.

Mine has never moved before, just this time which is once too many. Nylon washers are a good idea. Thanks
