what way do I adjust the front sight on my enfield no1.

my shots all land to the right . so aiming down the sight what way do I drift it?

The trick is, move the front sight into the error and the rear sight to where you want to go.
Every rifle or better yet, every sight radius has its own formula.
eg; Lets say you have a sight radius (distantce between the sights) of 20".
If you move the front sight 1/2" , at 20" from the front sight the poi will move 1/2". At 40" it will be 1". at 60" it will be 1 1/2". That's basically it. So, measure your sight radius and translate that into the distance you shoot. Shorter sight radius, little is more.

Everything you ever needed to know about sighting in a Enfield rifle.

Yes there is! This example is for 100m distance: If your printing say 3" to the right of center, then 3.00 x Sight Radius, divided by 3900 inches. Your answer will be in thousandths of an inch. Move your front sight that exact amount to the right, and your windage should be dead on. If you're shooting at say 25m then divide by 975 inches, if 200m then 7800 inches etc.
I use this formula to set the windage on all of my milsurps that don't have a windage adjustable rear sight. Works great!

Does it matter how far from the target? I assume there's a formula for how much to move the sight blade based on the distance from shooter to target.
