Hey guys n gals,

I bought a Lee Carbide 9mm die and I just want to make sure I have it set up properly before starting out. I bought the die set second hand so I can't just read the instructions, not to mention the videos on Lee's website have no audio; making them much less helpful.

I raise the ram up all the way wit the shell holder in place and then screw the die in until it hit the shell holder. I lower the ram a bit and turn the die in 1/2 to 1/3 turns more and tighten up the ring.

All good to go?

You have 3 dies in the set, right?
It looks like you're using a single stage press, so yes, if you're talking about the (1st stage) resizing/decapping die, then you're correct with your initial adjustment. Do not have too much force on the ram/shellholder/die on contact, as it is unnecessary and just causes undue wear on the components.

Scanned my 9mm instructions.

If you can't read them, send me your e-mail and I'll send you a larger version.

You want to be more carefull with Carbide die as it can shatter on impact with shell holder. So, adjust it in a way it doesn't come in contact with shell holder.
