Adjusting open sights on cooey

So a friend gave me a Cooey 75 that was in rough shape for Christmas. I stripped the rifle down and cleaned and re blackened all the metal work, tracked down the missing parts and refinished the stock. Took her out shooting last weekend and everything is working well except that I need to adjust the sights (iron sights). I was shooting at 25-30 yards and and my groups were left by 2.5-3". I know that I need to reposition the front left or rear sight right (or both). I calculated that I need to move the sight by 0.06" Any suggestions as to how to do this accurately? Should I move both sights 0.03" (both sights are dovetailed to barrel). I have seen the sight pusher tools but they look like they are designed for handgun sights. I am thinking about using a caliper to measure and a brass punch to move but I feel there has to be a better way.

Any suggestions or wisdom?
 
here is what I do. I clamp barrel in a vice (with pads) and knock the sight out of the dovetail (both sights). I oil the dovetails and put the sight back in place. They will now adjust more easily at the range. Take a hammer and a drift. Without a pusher, it is hard to make precise movements. I would move both sights a bit.
 
Put some masking tape on the barrel and register your marks from sights tap gently and you will be able to determine .030" with very little problems. .050" to .060" should be to where where you want.
