Adjusting trigger pull on a .303

Polishing sear contact surfaces to a mirror finish will help smooth the trigger a little, there is no built in trigger adjustment. These rifles were made for reliable operation in the worst conditions. Creep can be reduced very slightly but is tricky at best.

There are after market trigger options out there that allow for adjustments if you're willing to spend money, I think a quick google search would do the trick.
 
It can be done as simple as drilling and putting a set screw in to take up all the trigger slack and creep, I have mine set for about 2 1/2 - 3 lbs rite now, but as pete said there is no manual adjustment. I just sat down one day and figured I got to have a better trigger than stock and it can be reversed if needed and no harm done to any major workings of the trigger to make it unsafe. Just my thoughts.

Go slowly and be very careful not to alter the sear/cocking piece angle. A ceramic hone (such as those by Spyderco) is good for this. Use lots of water to keep the surfaces clear. A piece of 600 or 1200 grit wet-and-dry glued to a firm (ie non-flexing) backing, followed by 2000 or 2400 grit should also do the trick. Work in good light, cleaning and marking the surface regularly with a broad permanent marker to make sure you're honing straight and flat. You want to polish only, without changing either the angles or contact area.
