I have a Williams Fire Sight Peep Set on a lever rifle that I'm going to dial in. This is the model where the rear aperture is adjustable separately for elevation and windage. The elevation ramp has index marks on it, so should be fairly straightforward.
My concern is that the windage adjustment is completely loose and sloppy as soon as I back of the set screw the slightest. I figure I have about .015" of left/right adjustment room and I don't know if I can maintain the desired position while I tighten the set screw.
Any tips on "gumming up" the windage slider a bit so that I can set it in place with my fat fingers and have some chance that it will stay there while I torque it down?
Thanks
