Adler RF224 vs Derya TM22

Trying to decide if I should get the Adler Arms RF224 (with the 11.7" barrel) or a Derya TM22. I've been leaning towards the tm22 but it's a couple hundred dollars more expensive. Anyone have experience with both/either of them? Hoping there might be some glaring differences that might make the decision easier lol

i have both Derya tm-22 Cadet and RF-224 wood stock-both operate well- RF-224 magazines harder to load is big difference to me-Derya Cadet much lighter in weight
 
I have both. I bought the Derya TM-22 about a year ago and it has been pretty stellar so far. For me it functions with both standard & high velocity ammo, is accurate (I shot a dime size 5 shot group at 25 yards with a 2 MOA red dot) and best of all it seems to have good warranty support from O'Dell Engineering.

I just bought the Adler RF-22 last week. Bear in mind that my opinion so far is based on very limited use but so far I am not impressed. The very first round jammed when I tried to chamber it. After that the 10 rounds (Mini-Mags) did shoot reliably and seemed to be pretty accurate even though I was shooting unsupported. The first round in the next mag also semi-jammed but again the 10 Mini-Mags functioned without a hitch. I then tried shooting some Federal bulk pack from a Butler Creek pinned 25 round mag but could not get any round to chamber although I'm laying the blame for that on the mag, not the gun.

However, when I tried to manually cycle some rounds through the gun from the original mags I noticed that the chambered rounds would extract about half way out of the chamber and then drop off the extractor on to the top of the mag causing a jam. I took the gun home, removed the bolt and inserted a round into the cutout on the bolt face . The extractor seems to exert enough tension to hold the rim but the problem is that the bolt face cutout is too big and allows the case head to move away from under the extractor claw which would explain why the rounds fall off the extractor once most of the round clears the chamber. The originally fired Mini-Mag rounds ejected fine but that obviously was from gas pressure and not the extractor pulling the cases out.

So now I have to contact the dealer I bought it from to see how or if they are going to handle this. If they jerk me around I'll be doing a follow up post.

Overall the gun seems solid and accuracy was decent so I had high hopes for the Adler. Others seem to have had better luck so maybe I just got a lemon. Time will tell but at this stage I can't recommend it. A gun that's cheaper isn't worth the cash savings if it doesn't work.

Grab a basic Ruger 10/22 carbine for $350 at BassPro right now. 101592677 is the item number.

Reviews on reddit and youtube summarize the RF224 as complete garbage, skip the worry and just get a Ruger that should run 100% right out of the box with the only issue being what ammunition it prefers.
 
Never shot rf224 but I own Derya tm22 and it shoots one hole groups at 50 yards almost identical to tikka t1x with same ammo, which is quite surprising for a semi auto.

To go one step farther
The archangel stock is now available again in Canada. I built one years ago out of the heavy barrelled version and it’s been bullet proof.

adlers are all gone.

why are there two prices on the TM22 short handguards? one is for $539.95 and the other are $486.95 , the latter comes in 20" and 18" barrels.
 
I have both. The Derya seems front heavy and is very good qulaity. Nice build and paint. Mine is red and it looks kind of cool. No problems and will function with any ammo. Even the Quiet Semi Auto from CCI.

The Adler RF22 with the short barrel is also nicely built and I have had great success with the 597 adapter with mags. I alsofind the factory mags work great also. Two things, its loud (we have goats and I dont like to scare them) and it likes spicy ammo. Does not reliable load the Quiet Semi-Auto from CCI at 850FPS. It works with with the standard 1000fps CCI and really loves mini mag and stingers.

Trigger - Derya Wins
Weight Distribution - Adler WIns
Size and ergonomics - Adler wins (im a short dude with T-Rex arms)
Quality - Id say Tie
Accuaracy - I shoot better with the Adler likely because of fitment to my stature.

Whats missing:
Last shot bolt hold open from both.
Derya comes with no sights
Adler BUIS are not great

So I say a tie mechanically but I prefer the Adler for plinking at 33Meters

Love my TM-22. Accurate and fun to shoot. I've bought a cheap 10/22 in the past and was not in the same league. Trigger sucked, accuracy sucked, build quality sucked.

That being said, be mindful not to screw up the screws that hold the top plate on the TM-22. Thinking they're the weak point of the design.
