Hello all,

I am looking to buy a FFP rifle scope for a coyote\varmint\ range rifle.

Don't own the rifle yet, still undecided between MRA renegade .223 wylde and Browning Xbolt varmint...

I consider the Vortex diamondback tactical FFP 4X 16.

Any comments on this optic? Good or bad experience?

Any suggestion for a reliable FFP rifle scope i this price range (600$ or so).

Lets the debate begin!!!

Have a nice day everyone!!!

I'd go with a vortex Venom at a minimum, it's a big step up from the diamondback.
Arken, Athlon, Bushnell match pro

Arken EPL and Athlon Helos are good on a budget. Vortex Venom and Strike Eagle if you can spend a bit more. Diamondback line used to be the good cheap option but it's an older design in need of an update. New chinesium scopes are just better. More reliable and better glass than older scopes.

I have a Diamondback Tactical. Get a Vortex Venom.

The Venom is a huge step up from the diamondback, the Strike Eagle is a small step up from the Venom, you basically get more elevation travel and illuminated reticle. I picked up the Venom after RMA'ing an Athlon BTR, and upgraded to a Midas tac 6-24, sold the 6-24 as I didn't like the eye box all that much. I'm sure the 5-25 Midas is better, but its more expensive again.

I have Both a Diamond back tactical in 4-16. And a Bushnell Match Pro 6-24.

Both scopes do well enuff for shooting within the 100 yards I been shooting for ORPS. But I definitely much prefer the Bushnell match Pro. Just better scope all around clearer glass and far far nicer dials. I choose to get the 4-16 Vortex after owning the Bushnell as I wanted a smaller dimension scope to mount on my CZ 457 to keep its cleaner lines. The Bushnell is mounted on my Savage B22 a rifle that’s an amazing shooter but one I am much less concerned with it’s aesthetics.
