hey their

i jsut got into reloading and i see that alot of people are asking the same questions i did not so long ago. does everyone want to get together and sticky a newbie info thread on how to get started.

info on what manuals to get options for starting kits for rifle and handgun. and a kinda disclaimer saying what can happen if it goes wrong and that it is a serious thing.

i think it would be a good idea so that we dont have to answer threads with the same lee anniversary kit and get a manual first lol.

im not saying its stupid that people are asking im just saying it would be easier for them to look at the info and list of equipment need.

what do u guys think??

If you looking at reload both rifle and pistol, you may need a strong press, I use mostly Lee and I think they are good. Lee has a cast iron press called the classic press and is very strong, plus their die is user friendly and come with shell holder. It will all depends what you willing to spend, Lee is the cheapest. As for reloading manual, everyone has their preference and is hard to suggest one. I personal have a Lyman edition 48 but I don't like it. But understand it is a must to have several manual to give you accurate informations to help you avoid trouble. Many accident happened is over charge or double charge. bullet seat too deep or used wrong powder. most reloading equipment and powder company such as RCBS will have reloading instruction in the web site and you can read as much as you can.

basic things need to have as following.
Reloading manuals
Reloading press (Too many choice out there depends on how fast you want to reload, I use single stage)
scale
priming tool
die set for rifle or pistol
case trimmer( depends what you shoot, 9mm don't always need to trim because you will lost the case long before they need to be trim, I only trim my .357mag case)
a dual caliber
a powder flow or a set of powder dipper.
primer pocket cleaning tool (some don't like to clean primer pocket)
chamfer tool for debur( If you don't trim the case, you don't need this one)
There are lot more details once come to persaonal choice. but these is what I have for my pistol rounds.

Trigun

case lub for resize rifle case. (carbide die for pisol don't need to lub before resize)
