Advice needed on airgun purchase!

I bought a Beeman pump action BB gun for my grandson. It was on sale at Canadian Tire for $60, regular $80. It turned out to be crap. The plastic gizmo that controlled the loading broke. Beeman was/is of absolutely no help in obtaining a replacement part.
 
Some guys over on the Ganadian Airgun Forum swear by the Daisy 953.

It's a single pump, (no CO2 needed), .177 with a 5 shot magazine that is very accurate.

It shoots around 490 fps. You can get it at Walmart for about $110 or online at D&L Airgun in BC if you'd rather support a small Canadian company instead of a big box.

Thanks for the tips.

I ended up with a very nice older single shot break barrel made in Hungary, wood stock, nice short barrel, well balanced for a youngster.

A fellow Gun nut actually gave it to me for free....helluva guy, very thankful!

Nephews birthday was today, he was hitting pop cans at 20 yards. He and I, both very happy....
