I would say they aren't worth it. Mosins as a general rule are not very accurate compared to other period rifles. Adding a scope to a random rifle is not going to give you a very pleasing result. Some non-sniper examples are capable of good accuracy (<2"@100m) but most are 4" or (much) greater.
A genuine sniper sells for about $650 retail so the price difference between the repro and the real thing is quite small. There are none for retail sale in Canada at the moment but AIM in the US just sold more than 500 recently imported examples. I expect another shipment will arrive sometime.
Contrary to a lot of what you might read on the internet, it is quite difficult to get a real sniper with a good bore to shoot <2" consistently. In Canada, ammunition choices are very limited (surplus 148 ball, an general use heavier bullets from MFS, TULA etc). You can get reloadable cases but there are no 0.311 projectiles to be had. I only get reasonably consistent and repeatable results with very slow shooting; 5-7 minutes between shots.
I would wait and try to buy the real thing. Even then, don't expect a selected ("CN")Mosin to shoot like a modern bench gun.
