Hey all,
In just getting into the action shooting sports and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on brands or types of belts I should get that will be suitable for IPSC and 3gun. I'm going to start off just pistol shooting until funding allows me to get into the 3gun game.

Also if it makes a difference I have an M&P9 range kit and would like to use the holster than came with it.

Any feedback or personal advice on belts that have been working well for you would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Doug

Give Double Tap sports a call. He helped me pick equipment. He carries his own DTS belt and Double Alpha belt. In my limited experience, you'll want a belt which makes your equipment stay put. I'm running a Double Tap belt and happy with it.

Safariland ELS would be my choice, you only need 1 Belt for all shooting formats, just swap gears using the ELS

For now, just to get out and practice and to find out how you want to set up, use your M&P kit with any competition belt. The Double Alpha's, CR Speed, Ghost, Double Tap are all good inner/outer belts.

I'd say start with a good stiff belt then upgrade your holster when you have the money. The M&P holster will leave you wanting more!

If you do decide to go with a quick attach system like the Safari, make sure your holster upgrade will work with it. They are fairly universal these days but never 100%

I'm lusting after the Safariland after having seen it in action last summer. But I don't change out what works okay right now until it wears out. I have a velcro Black Scorpion one that was itself an upgrade from Double Alpha. It's stiffer than the Double Alpha.

Any nice stiff inner/outer belt combo is a must. I personally use and still own a Safariland buckless system. Just remember how much everything will weigh when its all loaded kn the belt.
