Hi All,

Hope everyone is doing well.

I have 2 K98s that I need to install stock disks on. These are the silver disks with the substantial central rod and not the threaded aftermarket ones you see now.

I suspect these were originally press fit with something that could exert enough force to crimp the ends of the rod over the disks, but I seem to be short a machine shop and a large press.

I've seen a tool online (in the States, no Canadian shipping) that basically has two cones on a central thread that you can tighten down. But, looking at it, I can't imagine you could create enough force to crimp the rod with it... who knows?

Has anyone done it before? (Er, successfully...) Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Google this, it is about the best way I've seen for doing the procedure.
