Advice on IPSC Production gun: SP-01 Shadow or P30L

As long as the DA trigger pull is no less than 5 lbs your good to go, you can tune your trigger to your liking adding factory springs & parts, use a dremel to polish the internals...etc. There's no PD rule that forbids trigger jobs.

Depends on what you call a trigger job. You can only do minor detailing to remove burrs. You can't re-profile any parts.

And yes I know it's hard to catch if you do break the rules in this case... but that doesn't mean you should cheat and break the rules either.

You don't need to re profile anything on a Shadow, the trigger job is technically minor detailing and deburring. lighter springs are OME so I don't see why we are wasting time discussing it

yep
tanfo mags are always better

I don't know about better, but I do know what's gonna happen to those dimples as soon as they leave Canada ;) Realistically, I've had 100% reliability from both Tanfo and CZ mags, never any issues. The only downer about Tanfo mags is that the little takedown bump is more exposed so you can inadvertently field-strip a mag without intending to do so and while it's on your belt. Don't ask me how I know

Thanks for everyone's input. I had the opportunity to try someone's SP-01 Shadow last night and can't believe how well it fits my hand. The sights and great and target acquisition is very natural. Now I just need to find a good deal on one new or used!

I know a guy with even better mags, IMHO than the Tanfo mags. still a few left even
