I have the fab defense foreend on my new VZ 58. I put a little burris fast fire 3 on it and it sits just above the top of the front iron sight. My question is, is this an exercise in futility? Will the fab defense fore end allow the red dot to hold a zero? I don't see many pics of an optic on that fore end.

My other question is, is the FF3 good on the VZ58?

yah it holds zero well if you dont remove the cover. I only clean that rifle gas system once a year and I always recheck my zero after that. If you shoot corrosive well thats another issue and I wouldnt be mounting an optic there as youll need to clean the gas system every single time you shoot it.

I have a trjicon rmr on mine

Right on. Thank you for the info. Do you recommend that AFG instead of the Magpul MOE short for grip?

I like the angled forgrip, it helps me to point the rifle better, and you can still sling your arm tight and still be pointing with your arm towards the target which i love to do, i actually never shoot offhand without my arm in the sling tight. I've never been able to shoot well offhand with a standard vertical grip.

Im not that good of a shot offhand so the sling really helps.
