UB, depending on your load/barrel and more importantly ACTION, you may find the 27" barrel FASTER then/equal to the 30".
The type of loads that I would use in a mag fed working rifle don't benefit much from a longer pipe. Especially a larger bore case like the 308.
There a number of shooters using 22" pipes getting SAAMI expected velocities (a few a schnick higher). That is a much lighter, handier size rifle to run and gun with.
If this is more tactical then F class rifle and you are planning on using a standard Rem action, you might want to sell the barrel and get a shorter one.
If using a Savage, tuned Rem or custom action, you can get away with a little more juice in the case but still a 30" pipe isn't going to do anything for you if you need to be mobile.
The M852 is common enough. Made by Clymer usually. Just don't use any min spec neck/throat reamer. Any dirt/water on your ammo and you are going have lots of fun during the relay.
