I've managed to get my better half fully addicted to skeet...so now we're looking at picking up a shotgun for her to use.

My 12 O/U apparently has "too much recoil" and she's tried a 20ga Beretta that apparently was really comfortable. We've shopped around and the Browning 20 Cynergy seems to fit well, as does the Beretta 20ga White Onyx.

Anyone have any good/bad reviews of these or can recommend a better option we could look at?

Thanks in advance!

Know anyone who measures for shotgun fit?
You wouldn't regret a Browning Synergy. I would have mine outfitted with ports and backbored, (safety with side selection. not sure if they offer this anymore), mid bead, adjustable comb.
But like I said have the gun fit to her.
Both your choices are fine examples, but I would still go for the Browning!!

I like my Beretta Onyx Pro 12ga, I'm thinking of getting something similar for my wife in 20 or 28ga as well. If your wife is like mine, she will want a gun that shoots as good as the 12ga with half the recoil. I've never shot a 20 or 28ga. How much less recoil do they have?

My wife has gone through a couple of O/Us and auto-loader.

Her current "fave" is a Beretta 391 Parallel Target RL.

She reports "felt recoil" much less than her previous guns, and the shorter length together with the Beretta shim system for drop & cast has her shooting much better.

...all good advice. Thanks guys.

Fit was slightly better on the Beretta so it's the front runner for now. They're both a 26" barrel so the range will be marginal...should do for clays?

There are a lot of misconceptions regarding the impact of barrel length on range, 26" with the proper choke tubes and load are effective as far as they throw an acceptable pattern. The advantage of longer barrles for long shots is they allow for a smoother and more consistent swing and follow through which as we all know is a big part of hitting those long birds.
For a general purpose gun its hard to go wrong with either 26 or 28" but thats my opinion.
