hey I learned something too I hadn't even considered fulton armory based on their past reputation and dirty tricks- on the other hand their receiver are 1/2 the price of lrb or smith, which were the only 2 Iwas considering- I have no respect for clint McKee and company but maybe nnow I should reconsider

Thanks for the insight !! I'll throw some feedback score or whatever it is, extremely helpful, and fast replying too, you guys are just awesome
and get that manual and you can accomplish a goodly portion of the work yourself with just a vice hammer and punches-and slot screwdrivers- he ONLY part that really takes a gunsmith is setting the headspace and screwing the barrel into the receiver and getting the proper torque - everything else either screws or pins in place

you've given her a spring of hope :) honestly thank you so much for keeping me informed, I appreciate it, as does she

I'm glad to hear that. You're very welcome.

Here's the information you'll need.

Fulton Armory M14 receiver. They also offer receivers marked M21 (Fulton isn't a sponsoring business, so I can't link to them directly).

Gunsmith time isn't free and it will take time and effort overall.

I am aware.

If she can remove and/or destroy the receiver without damaging any other parts or taking it outside her house, she'll be looking at less than $100 to have the bolt and barrel installed on a new receiver.

You could also ask about barreling an M14 on the Main Battle Rifles section. There are also several stickied threads about M14s at the top of the page.

the bolt comes right out b/c of the takedown notch in the lower right hand receiver rail- it's in the manual how to dismount the bolt
